The molding precision in the production of acrylic products provides excellent conditions, and under normal circumstances, the molding is usually very accurate.However, when the temperature is high, the solubility decreases. This is an indication of acrylic’s high sensitivity to temperature.

During the process of handling acrylic products, the temperature is usually around 150°C, but when acrylic begins to degrade, the temperature exceeds 270°C. Therefore, it is still quite sensitive to temperature changes and will not be affected by temperature, exhibiting strong moisture absorption and water absorption capabilities.Generally, acrylic sheets need to be kept dry.

The main methods for toughening and modifying acrylic products include: copolymerizing with suitable monomers to enhance toughness.Adding second-phase particles for co-milling and toughening; Selecting interpenetrating polymer network structure (IPN) for toughening.Acrylic products use oriented stretching technology for toughening, as well as fiber reinforcement for additional toughness.The primary approach to enhancing the toughness of acrylic is to thoroughly investigate all the functions of acrylic and the influencing factors. Firstly, the commercially available ACR modifier and the polybutyl acrylate (PBA) prepared through various polymerization methods are mixed into the MMA monomer through an appropriate process. Then, the polymerization is initiated and the toughened and modified acrylic is obtained.The various functions of the modified acrylic were tested, and the toughening modification mechanism of acrylic products was analyzed.
